Israeli drone strikes hit Gaza hospital warehouse and neighborhoods, causing injuries and deaths

Israeli drones struck a medical supply tent at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah, wounding three people, while other attacks elsewhere in Gaza killed two.

On Saturday, an Israeli drone targeted a tent serving as a medical supply warehouse within the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital compound in Deir el-Balah, leaving three people injured. In Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighbourhood, another drone strike hit a bicycle, resulting in one death and two injuries, with the victims taken to al-Quds Field Hospital. Earlier, Israeli gunfire in the village of al-Musaddar killed one person.

Hospital officials also said an Israeli quadcopter dropped an explosive near Kamal Adwan Hospital in the north. Over the previous 48 hours, the Gaza Health Ministry recorded nine newly killed individuals and one body recovered from rubble, while 18 more were wounded. The ministry added that many victims remain trapped under debris, inaccessible to rescue crews.

Why it matters

The strikes illustrate the ongoing intensity of the Gaza conflict and its impact on civilian medical facilities and neighborhoods.

Hamas had agreed on July 30 to hand over weapons under a US-backed roadmap, a move Netanyahu opposed. The plan envisions an International Stabilization Force supervising disarmament and a technocratic National Committee to run civil services. Palestinian UN ambassador Riyad Mansour accused Israel of annexation efforts that undermine the peace plan.
  4. Aug 25 U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee publicly called the settlers “Israeli terrorists” and hinted at possible sanctions.
  5. Aug 27 Senate Democrats drafted a letter to Prime Minister Netanyahu urging an end to settler violence and a pause on new settlement approvals.
  6. Aug 28 Israel formally raised serious security concerns with the United States over the disarmament plan.
