Israeli forces kill disabled civilian in Daraa and seize youth in Quneitra
Israeli troops shot a disabled resident in Daraa province and abducted a young man while blocking a UNDOF patrol in Quneitra province.
Israeli forces carried out two separate operations in southern Syria on Thursday. In Jamlah village, western Daraa province, they shot dead a civilian who had a disability, with the body later taken to Daraa National Hospital. Later, troops entered Taranja village in the northern Quneitra countryside, deploying seven vehicles, abducting a young man and blocking a UNDOF patrol by closing the village road.
The broadcaster Alikhbariah TV gave no further details about the youth's identity or destination. The same day, Israeli artillery fired two shells near Abidin village in the Yarmouk Basin, with no confirmed injuries or damage. Syria's Foreign Ministry denounced the escalating Israeli incursions and aerial activity, warning they undermine regional security and reconstruction efforts. The incidents occur amid ongoing U.S.-mediated talks aimed at reducing hostilities along the 1974 disengagement line.
