Israeli forces launch targeted strikes in southern Lebanon after warning to Mansouri village
The Israeli military began precision attacks in southern Lebanon on Wednesday, saying they responded to a Hezbollah breach after previously urging residents of Mansouri to evacuate.
Israel’s armed forces issued an online notice ordering residents of the village of Mansouri to move at least 1,000 metres north, accusing Hezbollah of a serious cease‑fire breach. At the same time, the military began precise strikes in the surrounding area, including an attack on the town of Tebnine that killed one person and wounded 12. The strikes were described as retaliation for a Hezbollah violation and follow U.S.‑facilitated discussions in Rome.
Israel said it will keep a security zone in place to eliminate Hezbollah threats even after the June 26 U.S.‑brokered security arrangement. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump indicated that a pact to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be finalized by Wednesday as Iran and Oman move toward an agreement.
