Israeli military units barred entry to the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, keeping it closed to worshippers until Thursday evening to facilitate Jewish settler holiday events. Simultaneously, they disrupted education by preventing students and teachers from entering Al-Faiha'a Girls' Elementary School and Al-Ibrahimi Boys' Elementary School. Amjad Karajah, director of the Hebron Waqf, denounced the closure as an infringement on the sanctity of the site and Muslim worship.
Troops reinforced positions at the mosque entrances and shut several market gates in the Old City. Additional checkpoints were tightened around the Jaber, Al-Salaymeh, Ghaith and Wadi Al-Hussein areas near the Kiryat Arba settlement, further limiting Palestinian movement while granting greater access to settlers.
