Israeli passenger recounts subduing armed man and stabilising flydubai plane

Yaniv recounted to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he and another passenger broke into the cockpit of a flydubai flight after an altercation with a terrorist who was near the controls. Inside, they saw the pilot, an Indian national, seriously wounded near the door. Yaniv seized the terrorist, removed him from the controls, and called on other Israeli passengers to assist in restraining him.

When the aircraft began to tilt sharply, Yaniv returned to the cockpit, grabbed the controls, and used his knowledge from the documentary series "Mayday" to help level the plane. The aircraft, originally bound for Tel Aviv, was diverted to Tabuk in Saudi Arabia before completing an emergency landing at Ben Gurion Airport. Netanyahu described the episode as an extremely serious security incident and commended the passengers and crew for preventing a potential catastrophe.
