Israeli soldiers injured by Hezbollah IED as IDF ramps up strikes in southern Lebanon

Two Israel Defense Forces soldiers sustained minor injuries on Saturday when their engineering vehicle rolled over a Hezbollah-planted IED in the security zone of southern Lebanon, after which they were taken for medical care and their families notified. In retaliation, the IDF struck several Hezbollah facilities, including observation posts and other sites used by the Iran-backed group to plan attacks. Military officials affirmed that operations will continue within the cease-fire framework with the Lebanese government, aiming to neutralize threats to Israeli civilians.

The latest clash comes after Israel recently demolished a large underground Hezbollah network on the Ali al-Taher Ridge and eliminated rocket launchers and a tunnel shaft in the region. Ongoing U.S.-brokered talks between Jerusalem and Beirut seek to disarm non-state armed groups, with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun emphasizing the need for negotiations to avoid a costly war.
