Israeli troops kill Palestinian man in Aqraba and keep his body from relatives

In the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus, Israeli troops shot and killed 29-year-old Abdul Karim Muhammad Salem Khader, then withheld his body from his family. The operation began with a siege of his house, during which an Energa antitank rifle grenade was fired, and was followed by the use of a bulldozer to demolish sections of the dwelling. The Israeli army asserted that Khader was an armed man who attempted to attack soldiers.

Simultaneous raids swept across the occupied West Bank, including Anata and the Shu’fat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, as well as Dura near Hebron, where at least ten people were detained, among them Fayez al-Jabari, his son, Ayoub al-Awawda and Montaser Shadid. In southern Hebron, Israeli forces began razing homes in Khallit al-Dabe, Masafer Yatta, and sealed off access to Shu’fat and Anata, while also cutting main water lines in Anata. The actions have been described by Jerusalem’s governor Adnan Ghaith as part of a broader siege strategy.
