Istanbul chosen to host 2027 Spanish Super Cup Final Four

The Royal Spanish Football Federation approved Istanbul as the venue for the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, which will be staged at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in early February.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation's executive board confirmed Istanbul as the host city for the 2027 Spanish Super Cup, with the Final Four taking place between February 2 and 7 at Ataturk Olympic Stadium. Saudi Arabia, which has staged the tournament since 2020, was excluded because the dates overlap with the Asian Cup, though it is expected to return in 2028. The historic stadium, known for hosting the 2005 and 2023 Champions League finals, will host all four matches.

The four qualified clubs are FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad, and the semifinal matchups have been drawn as Real Sociedad versus Real Madrid and Barcelona versus Atletico Madrid. Barcelona enter as defending champions after winning the 2026 edition. The event marks a new destination for the competition after several years in the Middle East.

Why it matters

Fans and clubs will travel to Istanbul for a major domestic cup, impacting travel, tourism and the tournament's commercial profile.
