Istanbul to Host Global Justice Summit with Delegates from Over 70 Nations
Istanbul will hold the International Justice Summit on Oct. 8-9, gathering justice ministers, judges and legal experts from more than 70 countries.
From Oct. 8 to 9, Istanbul will host the International Justice Summit, bringing together justice ministers, members of the judiciary and legal scholars from over 70 nations. Hosted by Türkiye’s Justice Ministry at the historic Çırağan Palace, the gathering anticipates roughly 600 attendees, including representatives from 18 national bar associations and more than 30 international bodies. Akın Gürlek, Turkey’s Justice Minister, will deliver the opening remarks, while President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is expected to address participants on the second day.
The program features 40 speakers across eight thematic sessions covering Gaza accountability, international humanitarian law, arbitration, human-rights protections, social-media responsibility, migration, the legal impact of the global energy shift, and emerging digital threats such as AI and cybercrime. Bilateral meetings among justice ministers are also planned on the sidelines. Organizers stress the need for stronger cross-border cooperation and a universally accepted legal framework to tackle these complex challenges.
