Italian Eurofighter damaged in night attacks on Saudi air base

Nighttime strikes hit Saudi Arabia's Ta’if air base, damaging an Italian Eurofighter F-2000, while no Italian personnel were harmed.

During the night, a series of assaults were directed at the Saudi air base in Ta’if, a site hosting Italian personnel involved in Operation Inherent Resolve. An Italian Eurofighter F-2000 aircraft was hit and suffered damage, though the defence ministry said no Italian troops were affected. Defence Minister Guido Crosetto relayed information from General Luciano Portolano, confirming the incident and noting no further damage to other equipment or infrastructure.

Concurrently, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed to have struck a Togo-flagged oil tanker attempting an "illegal" passage through the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire and halting the vessel. Iranian officials also announced the recent interception of two American drones, a claim echoed by U.S. officials.
