Italian Startup Launches AI-Powered App That Plans Fully Furnished Rooms in Seconds
Elephantroom, a free iOS app built by architect Lora Fahmy and AI engineer Alessandro Duico, instantly creates accurate 3-D room layouts using real catalog furniture.
Elephantroom, developed by architect Lora Fahmy and AI specialist Alessandro Duico, entered the App Store as a free iOS tool that creates complete, to-scale 3-D room layouts in about two seconds. Partnered with Italian venture builder Liquid Factory, the duo leveraged Fahmy’s architectural expertise and Duico’s AI background to digitize retailer catalogs, converting photos into 3-D models and using a language model to capture exact dimensions from product descriptions.
Users specify room dimensions, preferred style, budget and brand, receiving hundreds of realistic arrangements drawn from actual products rather than placeholder items. The platform’s layout engine respects real measurements, preventing impossible placements, and lets shoppers modify designs, switch brands, or reset budgets before sending the plan to a shopping cart with direct purchase links. A photo mode overlays realistic renders on the accurate 3-D layout, offering both visual appeal and practical planning. Duico emphasizes that the service provides genuine 3-D designs matched to purchasable items without hidden fees or dummy furniture.
