Iváncsa reports clean groundwater after battery plant solvent leak investigation

The municipality of Iváncsa announced that recent groundwater analyses found no traces of the carcinogenic solvent NMP in any of the 55 wells examined after a leak at the SK On Hungary battery manufacturing site. The contamination was first identified in a monitoring well inside the plant, prompting the company to suspend operation of the relevant equipment and cooperate with authorities. The town, which receives its drinking water via a pipeline from Ercsi, stressed that the water supply remains safe.

Samples were collected from wells throughout the village over the past days and all returned clean. Local officials said they will maintain ongoing control testing to ensure continued safety.
