Iwan Roberts says Phil Parkinson may finally feel pressure after Wrexham loss

In one outlet Radio Wales interview, ex-Wales forward Iwan Roberts suggested that Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is likely experiencing pressure for the first time since taking charge, following a 2-1 home loss to Birmingham that left the team winless and without a clean sheet in four matches this season. Roberts pointed to Parkinson’s stubborn tactical approach, such as persisting with a back three late in games instead of shifting to a back four.

He highlighted the club’s defensive weaknesses, recalling last season’s sixth-worst record and noting that only Sheffield Wednesday have conceded more goals at home this term. Parkinson himself described the goals conceded to Birmingham’s Phil Neumann as “two of the softest” of his tenure. Roberts also argued that the 33-player roster, built after a high-spending summer, may be excessive and could cause further problems.
