J&K Investigation Agency revives probe into 1998 Wandhama massacre of Kashmiri Pandits
The J&K State Investigation Agency has reopened its inquiry into the 1998 Wandhama killings of 23 Kashmiri Pandits and is also examining other historic Pandit murders.
The Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency announced a renewed investigation into the 1998 Wandhama massacre that claimed 23 Kashmiri Pandit lives in Ganderbal district. The agency also initiated probes into the 1989 killings of prominent Pandit lawyer Tika Lal Taploo and former judge Neelkanth Ganjoo, both shot near their Srinagar residences. Investigators claim they are pursuing a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to resolve these decades-old cases.
Earlier actions included searches related to the 1990 murder of poet Sarvanand Kaul Premi and his son, as well as a chargesheet filed for the 1990 killing of nurse Sarla Bhat. Officials expect substantial progress in the Wandhama case soon.
