Jac Caglianone fuels Royals' 7-6 comeback win over Angels

Jac Caglianone delivered three hits, including the game-tying run, as Kansas City edged Los Angeles 7-6.

Jac Caglianone produced three key hits for the Royals, giving them an early buffer, a short-lived advantage and the decisive late-inning tie in a 7-6 win over the Angels. Angels starter Grayson Rodriguez surrendered three runs in four innings, including a Michael Massey homer that barely cleared the fence. Kansas City’s bullpen, featuring John Schreiber, Nate Pearson and Steven Cruz, held the lead despite a wild pitch and a passed ball.

A pivotal seventh-inning sequence saw Witt single and Caglianone drive in the go-ahead run, followed by a scoring single from Michael Massey. The Angels' ace Reid Detmers is slated to start the next game against Royals pitcher Randy Dobnak.

Why it matters

The win highlights Caglianone's emerging role as a clutch hitter for Kansas City.
