Jack Shepherd to be sentenced for assaulting girlfriend after speedboat manslaughter conviction

Jack Shepherd, who received a ten-year sentence in 2018 for the manslaughter of Charlotte Brown after his speedboat hit a submerged tree on the River Thames, has been ordered to be sentenced for a separate assault case. He pleaded guilty in July to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and to damaging property after violently attacking his girlfriend - a woman in her 50s - in February and June 2025, the latter involving a strike with barbecue tongs that left a permanent scar.

The assaults led to his recall to prison while he was serving his licence, having been released in January 2024. Shepherd will be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on September 14. His criminal history also includes a four-year term for a drink-fuelled attack on a barman at The White Hart Hotel in Newton Abbot in 2018.
