Jaguar to debut £130,000 electric Type 01 with 1,000 hp in New York
Jaguar will reveal its £130,000 Type 01 electric grand tourer in New York, a 1,000-horsepower model designed to intimidate drivers on the motorway.
Jaguar is set to showcase its new Type 01 electric grand tourer in New York, pricing the flagship at £130,000 and delivering a claimed 1,000 horsepower from a three-motor setup. The model boasts 23-inch wheels, a split 120 kWh battery that lowers the seating position, and a cabin highlighted by a full-width high-definition display and a central digital spine. Managing director Rawdon Glover described the event as one of the most significant moments in the company's 90-year history and used the platform to counter criticism from Nigel Farage, Donald Trump and Elon Musk regarding the brand’s recent “woke” rebrand.
The rebrand, which replaced the classic leaper logo and introduced a new typeface, had sparked backlash after a colourful advert earlier this year. Jaguar positions the Type 01 as a challenger to ultra-luxury EV rivals such as Aston Martin and Bentley, with deliveries slated for early 2027.
