At the Raisina Forum for Future of Diplomacy 2026, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar engaged with a cohort of junior diplomats, stressing India's rising influence via trade, development and humanitarian assistance-disaster relief ties. He pointed to the evolving global labour market and urged policies that safeguard the welfare of Indians working overseas. Jaishankar highlighted the challenges foreign ministries face in the age of social media and reaffirmed India's commitment to strategic autonomy.
He also spoke at the MLM New Delhi event, thanking Wolfgang Ischinger and underscoring the shared goals of emerging and middle powers from both the Global South and North. According to him, these states aim to de-risk, diversify partnerships and foster agenda-based cooperation, fostering a more multipolar, multi-aligned international order.
