James Carville slams Alaska Senate campaign staffers for demanding respect
Veteran strategist James Carville criticized staff members who complained about former Alaska Rep. Mary Peltola's treatment, calling them weak and soft.
James Carville released a brief video on the Politicon channel denouncing former campaign staffers who said Mary Peltola's Senate operation was disorderly and hostile. He portrayed the complaints as signs of fragility, insisting that campaign work demands relentless effort and that staff should not expect courtesy under pressure. Carville further implied that women running for office are often judged more harshly for similar conduct.
Political strategist Doug Schoen agreed that campaigns require a thick skin, though he deemed the alleged actions unacceptable, and predicted the allegations would not sway the election outcome. Former RNC spokesperson Elizabeth Pipko echoed the view that campaign life is a crucible not suited to the faint-hearted. No comment was obtained from Peltola or the newspaper. The remarks add a new layer of controversy to the closely watched Alaska Senate contest.
