James Gunn Announces Completion of Filming for Superman: Man of Tomorrow

James Gunn used his Threads account to announce that filming for "Superman: Man of Tomorrow" has officially wrapped, expressing deep gratitude toward the ensemble. He shared two images: one of Nicholas Hoult splashing into a lake after the final shot, and another of the crew gathered at the video village, noting the absence of a member named Brian. The movie continues the storyline from the 2025 "Superman," featuring David Corenswet as the titular hero and pairing him with antagonist Lex Luthor, played by Nicholas Hoult, to confront the new threat Brainiac, portrayed by Lars Eidinger.

The cast also sees the return of Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Milly Alcock reprising her cameo as Kara Zor-El. Aaron Pierre is introduced as John Stewart, a character previously seen in the HBO Max series "Lanterns." The sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on July 9, 2027.
