Jammu court issues second non-bailable warrant for Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed

During a hearing before the Special NIA Court in Jammu, the National Investigation Agency requested a non-bailable warrant against Hafiz Saeed, the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba, citing his status as an absconding accused in a case linked to the seizure of Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat near Srinagar. Bhat, a resident of Batpora, was discovered with a China-manufactured grenade and fifteen live rounds, leading to charges under the UAPA, the Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act.

Judge Prem Sagar observed that Saeed's alleged terrorist involvement emerged during the investigation and that he remained at large, unable to be summoned through ordinary means. Consequently, the court issued a general non-bailable warrant, marking the second such order against Saeed in two months; the first was related to the April Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 tourists and a local resident.
