Jammu and Kashmir police have booked the wife of an army officer for allegedly collecting and passing sensitive information to foreign intelligence operatives linked to China.
A woman from Telangana, married to an Indian Army officer and living in Jammu, was summoned by a Deputy Superintendent of Police after Jammu and Kashmir police registered an FIR accusing her of gathering and sharing classified information with foreign intelligence operatives, including contacts linked to China. The case, filed at Gandhi Nagar Police Station, invokes the Official Secrets Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Investigators are scrutinizing her alleged research activities and any possible transmission of material to the foreign agents, though early inquiries have found no evidence of such a transfer. Police are also reviewing how the FIR was initiated and any potential foreign connections. The suspect has not been arrested and remains under investigation. In a separate incident, two individuals, including a navy employee, were arrested in Andhra Pradesh for alleged spying for Pakistan.
