Jammu NIA Court Issues Non-Bailable Warrant for Senior LeT Commander Mohammad Yaqoob
A special NIA court in Jammu has issued a non-bailable warrant for Mohammad Yaqoob, a senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commander, over alleged terror plots in Kashmir.
The Jammu special NIA court ordered a non-bailable warrant against Mohammad Yaqoob, a Pakistani-origin Lashkar-e-Taiba leader, for planning attacks on security forces and civilians in the Kashmir Valley. This follows a similar warrant issued in early July against Hafiz Saeed in the Pahalgam attack case. The warrant, sought under the UAPA, Arms Act and Explosive Substances Act, relates to a case filed at a Srinagar police station.
Why it matters
The warrant signals intensified legal action against cross-border militants targeting the Kashmir region.
