Japan Chosen as 2026 Focus Country for Busan Producer Hub

The Asian Contents & Film Market has named Japan the 2026 Focus Country for its Producer Hub, sending ten Japanese producers to Busan in October.

The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) selected Japan as the 2026 Focus Country for its Producer Hub, a co-production networking initiative associated with the Busan International Film Festival. Ten producers from Japan will attend the October event to pitch active projects, explain the country’s production system and seek new regional collaborators. Now in its third year, Producer Hub provides a forum for producers to exchange information on financing, incentives and co-production opportunities.

The 2026 edition will run four days, from Oct. 10 to 13, adding an extra day compared with the previous year to allow deeper discussions. Sessions will include project pitches, case-study reviews of past Japan-region co-productions, speed meetings and networking opportunities, with follow-up meetings arranged for Japanese participants.

Why it matters

It highlights Japan’s growing role in Asian co-production and offers regional producers a platform to forge partnerships.
