Japan Cricket chief says teams may arrange their own lodging for Asian Games

Ahead of cricket's return to the Asian Games, Naoki Alex Miyaji, CEO of the Japan Cricket Association, addressed worries about lodging and facilities for participating teams. He explained that the Aichi-Nagoya Games Organising Committee, in partnership with the Asian Cricket Council and under the Olympic Council of Asia, is handling accommodation, and teams have been offered hotel rooms but may choose other options. The designated hotel lies roughly 20km from Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin City, where matches will be played.

Miyaji emphasized that toilets and both temporary and permanent dressing rooms will be provided within the player zone, and that the venue was constructed in just 17 months due to the lack of existing cricket infrastructure in Aichi Prefecture. Sri Lanka Cricket contributed curators for the turf and hybrid pitches, which Miyaji praised as the best seen for cricket at the Games. He also highlighted broader logistical challenges affecting other sports and expressed confidence that cricket will make a strong impression in Japan.
