Japan issues top-level landslide alert for Yakushima amid heavy rain

Heavy rainfall is expected, with up to 200 mm forecast for southern Kyushu through early Sunday. Typhoon Krovanh and a weather front are also expected to cause flooding and river swelling in western Japan.
