Jason Priestley recalls emotional rain-soaked scene with late Luke Perry

Jason Priestley appeared on the “Best With Them” podcast and recounted the most memorable moment he directed on the 1990s series, involving Luke Perry’s last appearance as Dylan McKay. In that scene, Perry’s character discovers his wife Antonia “Toni” Marchette was killed in a drive-by shooting, prompting him to fall to his knees amid heavy rain, captured by rain towers and a crane pull-back. Priestley said the shoot was both intense and enjoyable, and he now often thinks back to those days after Perry’s death.

He posted a tribute on Instagram, calling Perry a “bright light” and mourning the loss of a friend of 29 years. The actor also reflected on his own mortality, noting he turned 50 and feels he has already lived most of his life. He described Perry’s passing as a shock, emphasizing their close friendship and shared time as neighbors.
