Jati Tinggi Group stays upbeat despite sharp share price drop
Jati Tinggi Group said its orderbook remains strong even as its shares fell sharply amid tech-sector volatility.
Jati Tinggi Group Bhd reaffirmed confidence in its business outlook, pointing to a substantial orderbook that offers earnings visibility through 2026. The firm said no material changes have occurred in its operations or ongoing projects despite recent volatility in technology and data-centre stocks, which it attributes partly to global AI infrastructure investment worries. Its shares tumbled up to 29% in early trading, briefly reaching the limit-down threshold and triggering a suspension of intraday short selling, before ending the day down roughly 7%.
The company operates across underground cable installation, overhead transmission, substation work and related electrical infrastructure projects. It expects continued demand from Malaysia’s grid expansion, rising data-centre electricity use and renewable-energy integration, supported by Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s large capital-expenditure plan.
Why it matters
The story shows how sector-wide tech volatility can sharply affect a key infrastructure firm’s stock, despite solid project pipelines.
