JB Financial Group teams up with Upstage to build AI tools for banking
JB Financial Group and AI firm Upstage signed an MOU to create artificial-intelligence solutions for the financial sector, including custom AI agents for its banks and capital arm.
JB Financial Group announced a memorandum of understanding with Upstage, a Korean AI specialist, to accelerate AI adoption across its financial subsidiaries such as Jeonbuk Bank, Kwangju Bank and JB Woori Capital. The agreement, signed by Chairman Kim Ki-hong and CEO Kim Sung-hoon, sets out joint development of AI agents built on Upstage’s Solar Pro 4 large-language model. Both parties will exchange employees, conduct shared training, and pursue pilot AI applications for banking and capital markets.
They also plan to work with regional governments on consortium projects that benefit local communities. JB Financial intends to roll out the technology in its overseas networks, particularly in Southeast Asia, to explore new market opportunities.
