Jeff Bezos reportedly secures deposit on $200 million Beverly Hills penthouse

Sources say Jeff Bezos has placed a deposit on a six-bedroom, 17,000-sq-ft penthouse at the Aman Beverly Hills complex, a unit priced at $200 million.

The ongoing lane closures on Wilshire and Santa Monica are part of the build-out of Aman Beverly Hills, a luxury hotel-residence slated to open in 2028. According to insiders, Jeff Bezos has put down a deposit for one of two mirror-image penthouses that occupy the top floor of the complex. The 17,000-square-foot condo includes six bedrooms, 22-foot ceilings, a private cinema, gym, several kitchens, yoga decks and a rooftop area with a 65-foot pool and Jacuzzi.

Aman’s policy is to keep buyer identities confidential, yet the unoccupied twin unit is marketed for $200 million, a price that would dwarf any previous Los Angeles condo sale. Residents will also gain access to the adjoining hotel’s amenities, such as a spa, high-end restaurants, boutique shops and a 10-acre botanical garden. More modest apartments, like a 3,600-square-foot two-bedroom unit on a lower floor, are listed for $20 million.

Why it matters

The purchase highlights ultra-luxury real-estate trends and the growing concentration of wealth among tech moguls.
