Jeremy Corbyn, veteran MP for Islington North and founder of the left-wing Your Party, has secured a buyer for his three-bedroom terraced house in North London, now under contract at the listed price of £700,000. He originally purchased the property for £363,000 in 2007 and previously attempted to sell it for £1 million, gradually lowering the asking price over the past three years. The three-storey home features a 26-foot rear garden, two reception rooms, and political décor such as a “Peace: Build a Bridge Not A Wall” mural.
It is classified as council-tax Band E, with an annual bill of £2,577 and an EPC rating of D. Corbyn resides there with his wife, Mexican businesswoman Laura Alvarez, and neighbours note his pleasant demeanor. The sale follows a 2018 planning-permission refusal by Islington Council and a 2019 climate-activist protest at the garden fence.
