Jerry Sandusky to face new evidentiary hearing with recanted testimony

Jerry Sandusky, once an assistant football coach at Penn State, is set to return to a Centre County courtroom on Sept. 8 for an evidentiary hearing. The proceeding follows his continued attempts to reverse a 2012 conviction for sexual abuse of multiple minors, for which he received a sentence of 30 to 60 years. Court filings indicate that a victim who withdrew his testimony in June 2025 will provide new statements, and former lead prosecutor Frank Fina is also slated to speak.
