Jets unveil massive, tech-heavy performance center to boost player development
The New York Jets are expanding their training complex by 250%, adding advanced recovery pods, AI tools and a custom performance app as part of a Phase 2 renovation.
The New York Jets are investing heavily in a revamped Player Performance Center that will be 250% larger than the current facility, according to owner Woody Johnson. The two-story Phase 2 renovation at the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center will consolidate strength, conditioning, recovery and nutrition under one roof, featuring vibroacoustic recovery pods, multimodal wellness chambers, pneumatic resistance gear and a custom AI-powered performance app.
Director of player performance Erik Korem describes the effort as building a holistic health ecosystem that leverages data and AI while emphasizing individualized training. While construction proceeds, players are using a temporary training structure that is already more than 70% larger than the old weight room, ensuring short-term preparation is not compromised. The new technology, including computer-vision tracking and velocity-based training tools, aims to give coaches richer information without replacing human judgment.
Nutrition director Carmen Spencer will work with chefs to deliver tailored meals, addressing past player-survey criticisms of the club’s food services. Overall, the upgrade seeks to translate the expanded resources and expertise into better on-field performance for the 2026 season.
Why it matters
The upgrade could improve player health and performance, influencing the Jets' competitiveness in upcoming seasons.
