Jhansi woman found dead under bed, husband allegedly fled after assault
A 27-year-old woman in Jhansi was discovered unconscious under a bed and later declared dead, with police suspecting her husband of the killing.
Shivani, a 27-year-old from Datia's Indergarh area, was staying in Jhansi with her siblings when she was discovered unconscious under a bed in a rented house near Fauji Tiraha, Awas Vikas Colony. Medical staff at Jhandi Medical College pronounced her dead, and a panel of doctors confirmed strangulation and facial injuries on five areas. Her relatives allege that husband Yash Thakur, a resident of Gwalior, beat her over trivial matters, then locked the room from outside and fled.
Police received a complaint about the couple's dispute on August 31, reached the residence the following morning, and filed an FIR. SP City Preeti Singh said investigators have formed teams to locate Thakur, who remains at large.
