Jigsaw reports 18% sales rise as dress demand fuels turnaround

Jigsaw said its sales jumped 18% in the six months to July, driven by a 43% rise in dress sales, indicating its turnaround plan is bearing fruit.

Jigsaw announced that its revenue grew by 18% in the six months to July versus the same period last year, a rebound it linked to strong demand for dresses, which climbed 43% during the spring/summer season. The company also recorded an 11% rise in comparable store sales and a 21% increase in online sales, with the UK market up 19% and international sales jumping 48%. Managing director Tikki Godley said the results show the turnaround programme launched after a £3.5 million loss for the year to March 2025 is working, emphasizing better, more distinctive products and tighter buying discipline.

Majority shareholder David Ross praised employees and suppliers for delivering the brand’s promise and expressed optimism about the autumn/winter 2026 range, calling it one of the best yet. The retailer highlighted that customers remain price-conscious but continue to choose Jigsaw across stores, digital channels and concessions.

Why it matters

The rebound signals a struggling fashion retailer can revive, impacting jobs and suppliers in the sector.
