JLR unveils lower-priced Range Rover Sport EV with faster torque and long range

Jaguar Land Rover rolled out the Range Rover Sport Electric shortly after debuting the full-size Range Rover EV and ahead of the Jaguar Type 01 showcase in New York. The Sport version shares the 260-kW dual-motor setup of its bigger sibling, delivering 550 PS and 850 Nm of torque, but is priced from £109,810, making it the more affordable option. It features a 118.5 kWh pack that JLR rates at up to 374 miles WLTP (about 320 miles EPA) and can add 136 miles in ten minutes under ideal conditions.

The model includes all-wheel steering, Active Roll Control and an adaptive dynamics system that monitors 100 parameters 500 times per second. Off-road capability remains strong, with 900 mm water wading and 45-degree incline handling. JLR will continue offering PHEV, gasoline and diesel Sport models, positioning the EV against rivals such as the Porsche Cayenne Electric and BMW iX xDrive60.
