Joachim Trier’s film “Sentimental Value” captured eight Amanda Awards, including Best Norwegian Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

At this year’s Amanda Awards, Joachim Trier’s Oscar-winning drama “Sentimental Value” emerged as the most celebrated work, securing eight categories including Best Norwegian Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay alongside collaborator Eskil Vogt. The ceremony also awarded Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” as Best Foreign Language Film and honored Pia Tjelta with a second acting accolade for her role in “Don’t Call Me Mama.”

Supporting actress Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas was recognized for “Sentimental Value,” while newcomer Anna Drakopoulou Sverrisdóttir won for “Brightly Shining.” The People’s Amanda went to “The Battle of Oslo,” and the honorary prize highlighted Per Christian Ellefsen’s iconic portrayal of Elling. Casting directors Mette Holme Nielsen and Jannecke Bervell received the Golden Clapper for three decades of shaping Norwegian screen talent. Hosts Vegard Larsen and Linnea Myhre led the broadcast produced by Monster for NRK.
