Former Tennessee signal-caller Joe Milton III started for the Cowboys, completing nine of 13 attempts for 179 yards and delivering two passing touchdowns plus a rushing score, giving him a perfect three-touchdown day. He posted a 151.4 passer rating and avoided any sacks.
Sam Howell entered later, completing seven of ten passes for 65 yards and throwing an interception while also rushing for seven yards. Milton, drafted by New England in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft and previously traded to Dallas for a fifth-round pick, previously logged 32 touchdowns in 29 games at Tennessee.
