Joey and Jesse Buss Join San Diego Padres Ownership Group

Buss Sports Capital, the vehicle created by Joey Buss and Jesse Buss after the family sold most of its Lakers holdings, has entered the San Diego Padres ownership group alongside Kwanza Jones and Jose E. Feliciano. The brothers will sit on the new advisory board and apply their background in player development, payroll oversight, and roster construction to the baseball club. Reports indicate their equity stake is near five percent.

This move comes as the Buss family continues to divest its remaining 17.8% share of the Los Angeles Lakers, with Jeanie Buss opposing the sale and seeking to retain her governor role. Meanwhile, Mark Walter, who now controls the Dodgers, recently agreed to sell his Lakers majority interest to Josh Kushner and Bob Iger.
