Johannes Liebmann shatters world record to claim 1,500m freestyle gold

Germany's 19-year-old Johannes Liebmann set a new world best and won the 1,500-metre freestyle at the European Championships in Paris.

Competing in Paris, Liebmann touched the wall in 14:26.79, eclipsing the previous record of 14:30.67 held by Bobby Finke. The Hungarian swimmer Zalan Sarkany earned silver, while Liebmann's compatriot Oliver Klemet captured bronze. This victory follows Liebmann's earlier triumph in the 800-metre freestyle at his debut European Championships.
