Three former New York sports media personalities—John Jastremski, Sal Licata and Jimmy Traina—are teaming up for a new venture after recent departures from legacy outlets.
John Jastremski, Sal Licata and Jimmy Traina are joining forces to create a new sports media platform, following a series of layoffs and resignations at established outlets. Jastremski and Licata launched the "New York Sports Rush" podcast on the BetRivers Network on July 6, with episodes released three times a week on YouTube. Both have long histories with SNY and WFAN, and Jastremski recently left one outlet after a five-year tenure, taking his New York-focused podcast with him.
Traina, a longtime one outlet writer and host of the "Traina Thoughts" segment, announced his departure from SI, citing the evolving digital landscape and plans to return with a new podcast alongside Licata in September. The trio’s collaboration aims to leverage their combined audiences and expertise across podcasts, interviews and occasional written pieces.
