Jon Stewart slams Trump for denying the deteriorated state of the USS Abraham Lincoln

During Tuesday’s broadcast, Jon Stewart used the USS Abraham Lincoln’s troubled deployment as a metaphor for the nation’s challenges under President Trump’s second term. He described the carrier’s 286 days at sea, its rusted exterior and the hardships faced by roughly five thousand sailors and Marines. Stewart pointed out that the president had publicly asserted the ship was "beautifully maintained," a statement he said was clearly false given the crew’s accounts of corrosion, inadequate food and insufficient repairs.

He also cited Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s alignment with the administration’s narrative. Stewart concluded that the persistent denial of such realities erodes the foundational structures of the country.
