Jonathan Roumie to Narrate Banijay Live's New 'Luminiscence' Show at St. Patrick's Cathedral

Banijay Live will launch its immersive "Luminiscence" experience at New York's St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Oct. 1, featuring narration by actor Jonathan Roumie.

Banijay Live is bringing its "Luminiscence" immersive show to New York’s iconic St. Patrick’s Cathedral, with an opening date set for Oct. 1. The production combines lighting, orchestral music, choir and precise projections, and will be narrated by Jonathan Roumie, the actor who portrayed Jesus in the "The Chosen" series. Banijay Americas CEO Ben Samek said Roumie’s ability to convey depth made him the natural choice, while Lotchi co-founder Romain Sarfati noted that the cathedral’s Gothic architecture provides a fitting backdrop.

The experience will offer multiple ticket tiers and varying lengths, reflecting the scale of the installation, and will continue until the close of the year. Archbishop Ronald Hicks praised the collaboration, citing its role in preserving the historic space and engaging younger generations. The venture follows "Luminiscence" tours that have attracted two million visitors across twenty productions in eight countries.

Why it matters

The partnership blends cutting-edge immersive art with a historic religious landmark, drawing new audiences to cultural heritage.
