Jorge Martin breaks wrist in Australian sprint, Marc Marquez wins race and extends lead

Jorge Martin suffered a broken right wrist after crashing in the Australian sprint race, while Marc Marquez took the victory and widened his championship advantage.

In the Australian sprint at Phillip Island, Jorge Martin crashed on lap eight, causing a severe fall that left him with a fractured right radius and a possible distal ulna fracture. He was removed on a stretcher and may require surgery, according to team doctor Franco Perona. Marc Marquez, launching from the second row, won the race, increasing his championship lead to ten points over Martin, who now faces the prospect of missing the next two Grand Prix events.

Marco Bezzecchi, Martin's Ducati teammate, finished fourth, while the Di Giannantonio brothers secured second and third places respectively. Pecco Bagnaia retired early in the race, and the event highlighted a dramatic duel between the two Spanish riders before Martin's accident ended their contest.
