José Urquidy returns to Houston with White Sox, reflects on Astros legacy
Former Astros pitcher José Urquidy visited his old stadium with the Chicago White Sox and expressed gratitude for his time in Houston.
Chicago’s José Urquidy arrived in Houston ahead of the Astros-White Sox series, boarding an early bus to Daikin Park to revisit the ballpark where he spent six seasons. He reflected on a record-setting run that included a 27-16 record, a 3.98 ERA, five postseason appearances and three World Series wins - the most by any Mexican-born pitcher and a franchise record. Persistent injuries, notably two Tommy John procedures and a recent forearm strain, forced his departure from the Astros, after which he briefly joined Detroit, then Pittsburgh, before landing in Chicago.
