Josh Tongue snags two wickets in a row but hat-trick eludes him at Headingley

Josh Tongue dismissed Salman Ali Agha and Ali Usman on successive balls in the opening Test between England and Pakistan at Headingley, then Khurram Shahzad hit the next delivery for four, ending his hat-trick hopes.

In the first Test of the England-Pakistan series at Headingley, England pacer Josh Tongue took Salman Ali Agha and Ali Usman with consecutive deliveries. He was on the verge of a hat-trick, but the chance vanished when Khurram Shahzad struck the following ball for a boundary. The early wickets gave England an initial edge as the match unfolded on day one.
