Judea and Samaria farmers convene online to plan security for upcoming olive harvest

Over 80 olive growers from Judea and Samaria met virtually with government and security officials to coordinate protection for the October-November harvest, which they say is targeted by activist groups.

On Monday evening, a first-time virtual conference brought together over 80 olive growers from Judea and Samaria with officials from several ministries and the Israeli military. Attendees focused on preparing for the harvest period that begins in early October and runs through November, a time they say is exploited by anarchist and left-wing groups to stage provocations and produce anti-Israel material. Speakers such as Israel Ganz of the Benjamin Regional Council, IDF Brig.

Gen. Kobi Heller, and Avi Cohen-Scali of the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs outlined security measures, including preventing foreign agitators from entering the area and deporting troublemakers. Police chief Moshe Pinchi emphasized coordinated law-enforcement actions with local authorities and the Population Authority. The conference also reinforced ties between the Farms Association, the Foreign Ministry and the Public Diplomacy Ministry, aiming to safeguard the harvest and project a truthful narrative internationally.

Why it matters

The coordination aims to protect farmers and prevent activist-driven disruptions that could affect regional stability and Israel's image.
