Judge Schedules 32 Witnesses as Andic Case Moves Toward Trial Decision

Judge Raquel Nieto will hear testimony from 32 individuals in the Andic case, where Jonathan Andic faces homicide investigation after his father Isak's fatal fall.

The investigation into Isak Andic’s death, which occurred after a fall on Montserrat on 14 December 2024, has entered a pivotal stage in the Martorell court. Judge Raquel Nieto has summoned 32 witnesses, mixing those called by the prosecution with others requested by Jonathan Andic’s defense. Among them are the three executors of Isak’s will—Toni Ruiz, Daniel López and José Creuheras—who will explain the intended use of the late entrepreneur’s assets and a charitable foundation.

Defense-selected witnesses, including Miquel Roca, Ariel Sultán, Raquel Delgado and Germán Castejón, will argue that no economic motive threatened Jonathan’s inheritance. Family testimony will feature Nahman Andic, Isak’s brother, and longtime friend Isak Halfon, shedding light on the father-son relationship. Six Mossos d'Esquadra officers, two emergency medical technicians, three firefighters and a municipal guard will recount the rescue operation and terrain conditions. The court will use these accounts to decide whether sufficient evidence exists to proceed to trial or to close the case.

Why it matters

The hearings will determine if the investigation into Isak Andic's death will advance to trial, affecting a high-profile family and major business interests.
