Judge urges parties to settle evidence before Hardeep Singh Kohli rape trial
A Scottish judge has asked the defence and prosecution to agree on the evidence that will be presented at comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli’s upcoming rape trial.
In a procedural hearing, Lady Drummond directed defence counsel Sarah Livingstone and prosecutor Kath Harper to expand a brief draft joint minute that outlines evidence both sides can agree on for the trial of comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli. The case involves 20 allegations of rape, sexual assault, indecent assault and related offences spanning 2006 to 2022, with alleged incidents at locations such as one outlet Studios at Pacific Quay, the Radisson Hotel and Yes Bar in Glasgow.
Kohli, 57, has entered not-guilty pleas and asserted consent defences for some counts. The trial is slated for October 1 next year at the High Court in Glasgow, while a follow-up preliminary hearing is set for July 1 to finalise the agreed evidence list. The judge emphasized the parties’ duty to resolve evidentiary matters before the main trial proceeds.
