Julie Andrews to Narrate Full-Length Emma for Noiser Podcast Series
Julie Andrews will return to Noiser’s “Jane Austen Stories” to voice an unabridged version of Emma, debuting in 27 episodes beginning Aug. 25.
Dame Julie Andrews is set to narrate the full text of Jane Austen’s Emma for the second season of Noiser’s “Jane Austen Stories” podcast, with episodes rolling out from Aug. 25 across 27 parts. The production will pair her narration with bespoke cinematic scoring and detailed sound design to preserve the novel’s original language. This follows Noiser’s successful Austen and Sherlock Holmes audio projects, both of which have drawn large global audiences.
At the same time, Austen’s novels are experiencing a resurgence on screen: a feature film of Sense and Sensibility, directed by Georgia Oakley, is slated for a Sep. 25 release by Focus, while Netflix plans a Pride and Prejudice series later in the year. The combined audio and visual releases highlight the enduring appeal of Austen’s storytelling in contemporary media.
Why it matters
The project brings a classic novel to new listeners through a celebrated voice and high-quality production.
